My cousin from Germany wants to come and hunt with me Black Bear.
Beside non-resident permit for Ontario, what else he needs to obtain?
I would prefer to hunt without outfitter help.
Thanks for response

PeterPanArnstein,
he is from Dortmund and he hunts avidly, so this is not a problem.
I just don't know what licence I need to get for him here in Ontario beside non-resident licence.
Greetings,
Peter

Cal SibleyYou'll need an Ontario bear stamp as well as the nonresident hunting licence. You'd better check though because I haven't lived in Ontario for some years now. Are you going to hunt in the Spring or the Fall? Best wishes.

MurfI believe he wil have to obtain a firearms permit. From what I heard from Americans it is best to fill out the form ahead of time and not sign until in the presence of the customs agent. Even if he is planning to use one of your firearms he will need a permit in order for you to lend him one of your guns. Shouldn't be a big deal if he has passed the German hunter tests.

PeterPanThanks guys for response,
Mark will use my firearm, either .30-06 with 200 grain slug or .300RUM, or .270WSM.
It is better thta way.
In Ontario we don't have spring bear hunt since 1999, when Mike Harris government stop it.
