David CraigLegal hunting age for youth?
What is the legal hunting age for a youth to hunt in Canada? Does it vary by provinces or completion of hunter safety course?
Thanks

chilcotin hillbillyI don't know about the other provinces, but in BC 10 is the age where a kid can legally hunt. A non resident 10 year old can go on a guided hunt with parental supervision.

Frans DiepstratenIt does vary per province. In Alberta it's twelve I think. Go to
www.albertaoutdoorsmen.ca, there is a link to an online copy of the regs there.

David CraigThanks for the quick replys, my son is 13 so it looks like he will be good to go. He has already been through hunter safety and has hunted whitetails & hogs here in the US. I will check with Ont rules just to be sure.
Again thanks

WannabeBwanaJust checked my Ontario regs. Looks like the Hunter Apprenticeship Program (12-15 years) is only applicable to Ontario residents.
Check with the Ministry office to be sure, but it looks like he won't be able to hunt here. Too bad.

David CraigI just got done reading all of the requirements for non-resident hunting and found that the legal age is 16.
WannabeBwana thanks for the heads up.
