kayakerChester Mjolness collection in Sundre
Have any of you seen this trophy collection of his at the Sundre museum in AB?
I took a look at in on Sunday, damn impressive!
The museum curator told us that his rhino was a green hunt as no rhinos can be legally hunted anymore - I think they spin that so they dont upset people about a dead rhino (even if it truly was a green hunt).
His ele is over 100lbs a side (also replica ivory on display).
Nice full mount of a Bay Duiker and Black Duiker from Cameroon - first I have ever seen
His sheep and ibex collection is amazing!
the guy is 89 years old and still hunting, looking for a cheetah soon apprently. When there look at his portrait photo - his rifle scope is bashed and scraped up, looks like a great hard working piece!

sheephunterabYa, we went last year and it was a fun way to spend the afternoon. Chester is the ultimate gentleman and it's nice to be able to share in his hunting experiences.

Grizzly AdamsJust down the road, from me. The taxidermy was all done by Povl Munksgaard, of Mountainview Taxidermy in Olds. They don't come much better. Not bad, for a Dane, who started with a squirrel, in the Old country.

Chester used to wn Spray Lakes Sawmill and didn't really get into Big Game hunting, until he retired and sold the company. Since then, he's travelled the world and keeping Povl very busy.

Grizzly AdamsHey Frans;
You'd better come up for the trappers convention and we'll check it out.

Sounds like it's gonna be a big deal, complete with trade show . I'm sure it'll be open then. Driving by there tomorrow and I'll make a point of confirming the hours.
