flat_linerBC Cougar
Finally cashed some funds from my hunting account last year and booked a hunt with a friend and outfitter Scott Mackenzie in BC, Canada. He gave me a call earlier than my booked hunt, and asked me to get to BC right away as his last hunter harvested his tom, and conditions were the best they'd had all season. Clearing my schedule and an OK from the wife, I jumped on a plane and the hunt was on. His team of guides and dogs are the best of the best, and their track record boasts big mature toms, or "moose-killers" as Scott calls them. A fresh snowfall the night before and some ravens giving away the big toms last kill, and we were on his fresh track. Seeing the track and hearing the hounds go was the start of fulfilling an 11-year dream for me. It was a long chase up and down and then back up the mountain, and after several lost scent trails and some unbelievable work by the hounds and guides, the big old tom finally ran out of tricks. I steadily followed their trail in the deep snow. When I finally did get there, I found myself having to make a quick shot with my Hoyt at a monster tom that was getting ready to jump and fight or go for another run. The hunt and cat are way more than I ever imagined, and I am very grateful for the crew that was able to put it together for me. Thanks to Sugar Valley Outfitters for a hunt of a lifetime!

Davis GoertzenRIGHT ON!!! Sounds like you had an absolute blast.
What sort of firearm did you use on him? I'm unfamiliar with the name Hoyt.
You gonna full-mount that pussy, or turn him into a rug?
Anyway, good work.

My apologies, I assure you I had absolutely no intentions of causing trouble, either for myself or for others. I was just congratulating the OP on a very nice cougar; as my use of the term "pussy," I was just being a bit facetious.
What sort of trouble are you talking about? I wasn't trying to belittle anybody, or say something taboo.
One last thing. If you're trying to give me an honest warning, I appreciate it; but if you're trying to be smart with me, it doesn't sound very good coming from someone who's totally green on the forum here (namely you). I don't want to make an accusation, but it's hard to know how to interpret your post.

calgarychef1Davis he's just poking fun at you. Us guys from Saskatchewan are notorious for doing so. Don't get your panties in a knot all is fine.

flat_linerThanks all. I took him with archery tackle - Hoyt bow. He will spend the rest of [my] days as a life size full mount. We estimated his live weight at 160+ - we didn't have a scale, but this was the 108th cat in the career of one of the guides, and he put it in his top 5 for size.

Thanks for the clarification; and I hope I haven't made hard feelings. It was just hard to know how he meant what he posted.
