BC Bears hungry this year
VANCOUVER, B.C. - Two B.C. hunters are on the mend after being attacked by a grizzly bear while inside their tent.

Jeff Hebert and Ken Scown were on a hunting trip in the province's East Kootenay region Wednesday night when the grizzly suddenly charged, leaving both men with bloody wounds to their forearms and Scown with a severe bite to his leg.

Hebert says he was just getting ready to turn in for the night when the unprovoked attack, which lasted about one minute, occurred.

Hebert says he tried desperately to shoot the bear with his rifle, but was unable to properly load the weapon during the heat of the battle.

He and Scown did their best to yell at the bear and push it away and the grizzly eventually lost interest and walked off.

Both men are residents of Nelson, B.C, about 650 kilometres east of Vancouver, and say they will continue hunting despite the harrowing experience.

You should read the comments section of the CBC blog on this; the posts by "vegans" and other "antis" sound just like Nazi rhetoric....funny, one is a "Phd" from London, Ont. and advocates bears killing humans....
