Here is the hunt report from my barren ground/arctic grizzly from this year. It was a great hunt that I will do again.

Wonderful experience

I would not hesitate to go once I hear from Canada north

Now if I am looking for a large trophy for full body mount

Would you do this or kodiak ? Or coastal ?

The biggest bears are along the coast.

depending of the size of your trophy room.

i ve seen a real 10 foot kodiak and it s huge and his 8 foot grizzly didnt look like a cub too ... whatever you choose it will be a great adventure with the right chosen outfitter.

barren ground griz are not going to get to anywhere near 10'. for a true barren ground or arctic grizzly i would expect to see mostly 6' with 8' being a pretty good one. life is hard up there and the bears just don't get to eat those high protein salmon. winter is long and they sleep the majority away. it's a great hunt for one though. lots of glassing, lots of open country. it took me a few hunts to learn to love the tundra where even a blade of grass has room to breathe.

Yup, barrenground grizz are the smallest of the bunch. Expect a bear under 7' for sure. Life is harsh on the barrens and food is scarce. It's definitely a cool hunt in a harsh land. It really depends what you want out of the hunt....all grizz are fun to hunt....you just need to decide where you want to go, how you want to hunt them and what type of bear you want.

Thanks guys for on the ground info

Amazing what AR comes up time after time

I have shot enough 8 footers so this is out for me

I like a full body mount 10 footer so i guess its either magadan or kodiak
