Frans DiepstratenOscar,
now that I'm home I can look at the name...Elk Valley & Cardinal Coal Operation is what they call it in the article...I hadn't realized this is what is refered to as the Cadomin mine. I agree that if what I heard actually goes at Cadomin that is not my cup of tea either. But those rams are flippin' incredible compared to what I shot this year...!

Oscar MakonkaCadomin mines, all you have to do is drive up there and view the rams. Most any time, there are lots of them and they are pretty much tame. You can't hunt on the mine site. the rams that are taken there are shot in the surrounding area near the mine. Some of them come with ear tags. I've hunted the area once and found it to be a cluster f**k of hunters sitting around waiting for some hapless ram to wander off the protected mine site or to wander down out of Jasper park or the surrounding hills in the late season to winter on the mine. It's a very heavily hunted area and when a ram is spotted in an area where it can be shot you are likely in for a footrace with several other hunters. Not my idea of a traditional sheep hunt.
