Frans Diepstratencoyotes 'round Calgary
Where would you go if you wanted to hunt coyotes on public land in the *greater* Calgary area? I've never seen many in units like 406 or 412. I've seen several on private land getting to these units, but the no hunting signs are pretty thick up there...any suggestions?

GraylakeHi
I would suggest going east of the city. The Farmers and Ranchers out east would look kindly on some one coming out to help out with the predator problem.
You also might try talking to the Strathmore F&W. They recieve complaints from the farmers around in the area all the time. That would be a good place to start.
Enjoy

derfThat roughly what I was going to suggest. Just go inroduce yourself to most any Farmer/Rancher and be your usual polite and courteous self. It might take a day be it will probably be worth it in the new friends you will make. derf

ThomasFrans, I just started calling coyotes last winter, with reasonably good success. If you are interested we can arrange a shoot sometime in December. In any case, north and east of town are good bets for yoties.
