schmausneed help finding a bear
I have a griz draw for area 7-16 in British Columbia. I have been out every weekend since april 15 and have only seen three grizzly bears (sow with 2 cubs). I have seen over 30 black bears, some were well over 6 feet but could not get a bead on them. Anyway I'm just looking for some recomendations on where and how to hunt/find grizzly bears.
Thanx
Hey maus,
I told you 7-16 is a big area try going north of Bear Lake

Grizzly AdamsHello;
The best advice I can give you is, these things are thinly spread and cover a lot of territory, especially the boars, so you gotta look like Hell and keep looking. I had a draw for the Swan Hills area last year and hunted right up to the last day, but probably because of the late Spring the bears were't moving much. Never even saw a track, even though one of the locals toured me through the usual places. I even checked out the local dump, a well known hot spot, just to see if there was any activity.

kutenayI would be happy to help you or any ethical hunter, but, I am not familiar with that area. I can give you sound advice on the Kootenays and some other parts of the Province, but, these are all LEH, of course. The best way to hunt Grizzlies is to hunt something else in good Grizzly country....then, you encounter the buggers exactly when you least want to!
