Moose/Caribou Combo Outfitter?
I'm looking at my first Canadian hunt next year, a combo moose/caribou hunt. I'm thinging of either British Columbia or Manitoba as I plan to drive and bring the meat home with me. I've heard the cost is very high to fly the meat back to the states.

I don't need the biggest trophy but want to have a very good chance to collect mature, represenative animals of both species. I'm not looking at the cheapest or the most expensive hunt. What I want is a good value for my money.

Please feel free to provide any recommendations or advice that you have for this first timer. What outfitters should I stay away from.

Thanks for any information that you can provide.

Consider the Collingwood Brothers out of Smithers BC: http://www.collingwoodbros.com/_/Home.html

I have hunted with them several times and they are top-notch

Bart and Stan Lancaster. Hunted moose/caribou a couple of times and moose/goat another time. Great moose as they are right on the Yukon/BC border. Shot a huge caribou there as well. Hard to beat. They offer both lake and horseback hunts. We drove to Watson Lake and flew from there. Brought our meat back home in a cooler with a generator. Don't even think of flying with it. Way way way to expensive and not worth it.

Have any of you heard anything about Blackwater River Outfitting in British Clumbia?

Tim Mervyn at www.yukonsheep.com. Top shelf area, honest and hard working outfitter, fabulous game.....more salt of the earth type people from North of 60. I have hunted with Tim three times now and will probably never use another outfitters for most any Canadian species
