Has anybody had any work done on their rifles with the Cranbrook based gun smiths Martini&Hagn?
http://www.martiniandhagngunmakers.com/I chatted with Martini at the show about the ejection problem of my CZ, I'm thinking of sending the gun to him...

CanuckI haven't used them personally (Bill Leeper's my man), but a bunch of my friends have. They are absolutely world class gunsmiths...'nuff said.
If you drive down to drop off or pick up your rifle, shoot me an e-mail and we'll make arrangements for me to buy you a beer.

Its about a 4 hour drive one way from Calgary, but you could tie it into a weekend of sight-seeing/golfing/hiking etc in the Rockies.
Cheers,
Canuck

scruffyI gave Ralf my Baikal SxS 30-06 to replace the nasty Ruskie sights ..

If I miss a warthog with it in August, I'll know that they screwed up !!!

ArcticI trust their work so much I always have a rifle or two in the shop. They recently rebuilt an Alex Henry for me in .450/400 that now shoots cloverleafs.I highly recommend them to anyone who appreciates quality and attention. ~Arctic~

AkshooterEverything I've read here doesn't give them the credit they deserve. They are among the best in the world

M70classicGentlemen,
I know a little bit about Ralf Martini. He used to live about 20 miles from where I live now in Fort St. John, BC. I spent part of one afternoon just watching him in his shop. That was shortly after his induction into the American Custom Gunmaker's Guild. His work is the tops! I got some very good advice from him, some of which I have been able to put into practice

("Winchester FWTS are one of the best you can get.") and saw some of the custom rifle stocks that he had built. Nice Work!

Graham

Frans DiepstratenI'm getting the impression I need to remortgage the house before sending my rifle to them...

NortmanI have read nothing but praise for them..
I have wanted one of their single shots from the first time I saw one!!
A Martini Hagn single shot in 300 H&H! Can you say perfection?

I don't know if I'd go that far, but I had a similar thought myself. I had just about talked myself into having Ralf build me a .404J when the poor prairie farmer genes kicked in. I ended up buying a lightly used custom .404J instead, knowing that I'll spend a fair bit of cash tweaking it and still be money ahead.
Now, my wife has got the money in the family and is looking for an elk rifle. I kept Ralf's card.

Frans DiepstratenWell, I dropped the rifle off a my buddy's who will take it to Cranbrook this weekend. The ejection problem is on its way to being history, I'm sure, and who knows what else will be done before I go and pick it up.
For now I'm off to the bears with Grizzly Adams (tomorrow morning departure). Back in week, or sooner ;-)
Cheers,
Frans
