TIM WOLFEXPORTING A TROPHY FROM THE US INTO CANADA
Hi Guys,
Last September I partook in a hunt in Alaska’s Talkeetna Mounatain Range for moose. It ended up being a great hunt as I managed to bag a tremendous B&C moose. After the successful completion of the hunt I had made arrangements with the outfitter to have his taxidermist do the tanning and splitting of the antlers to simplify the logistics of trying to bring home my cape and antlers. I recently received a call from this taxidermist stating that my hide was ready and he is just awaiting the shipping details.
My question is, what exactly does a guy have to do in order to export this moose cape and antlers from ALASKA into Canada? I understand that the moose is not a listed species under CITIES.
I have thought about using D&C expediters right in Alaska but figured that if it’s just a matter of getting the necessary paperwork I would do it myself.
Any first hand info would be appreciated
Thanks
