Re: Anyone hunted with Nunami Outfitters?

Don't they provide any references? Better check
Yes, Sir, they do, but this forum is comprised of many, many hunters who may not be listed on the reference list.
In my job I'm often called on to do backgrouind investigations on job applicants. I've learned that the references they provide will almost always give a glowing recommendation. It's the one's not on the list that provide more accurate information.
I'm hearing that Nunami Outfitters went through some personnel problems in 2002 but that problem is supposedly cleared up. I'm just trying to find out as much as I can.
Thanks!

houndYes, i get your point. What i should have said was, phone some references, they may be happy or they may not. Sometimes a little chat and asking the right questions can get you between the lines. It only takes one unpleasable or unreasonably demanding client to hurt a good outfitter.
I was in the outfitting business for many years, bin there!

Good luck!

Of the two top bou camps in NA they are one of them.
Thanks for the info.
I've booked with them to hunt during the pre-rut during the last week in September - next month - not a year from now.
They had some cancellations and dropped prices to fill some spots for that week. All the references I talked with said that the week I'm going and the week after are the two best weeks and that I should see a lot of very large bulls.
The 5 1/2 days of guided hunting is costing $3875.00 and includes two bulls. There are more openings if anyone is interested. Fly to Montreal on the 23rd and fly back from Montreal on the 1st of October.
Needless to say, I'm only a lot excited right now!
I'll post a report when I return.
Thanks again.

houndGood on ya Texas!
The only bad part of the hunt will be having to go through Montreal

Don't forget.....lots of 100% DEET! Have a great hunt you lucky dog

Since I've never been there, is there something about Montreal I need to know??
I'm thinking that I shouldn't have to worry about the bugs on this trip. With it being the last week in September I'm told that the temperature range should be 10 - 40 degrees.
Thanks for all information and guidance!

houndJust being a little fascetious about Montreal.....it being a liberal stronghold, kind of a political "east-west" thing in Canada

As to the bugs, if you get any warm weather and it has not frozen hard yet, they will be out again. Odds are you will be ok at the end of sept, but a little insurance. Outfitter should have that covered anyway.
