13 days and counting
Looking forward to visiting Canada.
In thirteen days I will be heading for your country for bear.
I hope the bruins are out and about and I promise to behave and not start, or continue, any international incidents.

Anyone have any hunting reports for the Radium Springs area of BC??

kutenayYou are coming to the finest, most beautiful area of Canada's best Province, the Kootenays. If, you have never been here before, you are in for a very special experience as the scenery is stunning, you literally will never forget it. Even those of us born in the Kootenays who are "used" to it, oftimes pause and gape at the magnificent landscape, especially in the spring.
There are lots of Bears and I hope you get two big buggers because we actually should thin the Blackies out somewhat. You will find people are generally friendly and the independent breweries BEER is absolutely worldclass, try Nelson Brewing Company's "Paddywhack" I.P.A. which you can get at the Liquour Store.
Good luck and enjoy your trip!

Very true.
Good luck on your bear hunt .44.

Cheers,
Canuck
I loved hunting in Canada. Some years ago I hunted black bear out of Highlevel, Alberta and absolutely loved it. I shot two excellent specimens. The next year I hunted moose in the mountains west and a little north of Calgary..another great trip not to be forgotten by me (although there was some delicate negotiations that transpired between me and my guide regarding how much of the moose I got to take home with me...). I love hunting in western Canada...but Alaska has spoiled me as far as hunting goes so it is tough for me to think about hunting most species found in western Canada....of course, there are stone sheep...

kutenayWhat is even worse, is someone may actually run into me, "nationalist fervour", Rottweilers, Pre-64 .338 and all !!! Geez, I wouldn't wish that on any poor bugger!!!
From the pictures I've seen of the area it is beautiful....
If we have good luck I will post the pictures.
Aside from the scenery and the hunt I am looking forward to 7 days of no phones, no cars and no electricity.......sounds like the opening credits for Gilligan's Island.
12 days left

ruttinbuckI was hunting on the weekend in the Cariboo Mtns, north and a bit west of where you are going. The back country is opening up nicely,I had a chance at a very large boar but declined.Too long of a shot and crossing the river for retrival was questionable.
Good Luck RB
