BruinI have eaten all of the bears I have shot except one. That one was the one I killed in SE Alaska. I did not eat it because I donated it to locals rather than transporting it to SE WA where I live. The bears I have eaten were either taken from the mountains of SE Washington or in the Selway area of Idaho. They have been great eating. I have never found the steaks to be good eating (too much gristle) but the smoked hams and breakfast sausage and burgers and polish link sausage are extra yummy. My wife cooks the hams in the crock pot. Some care must be taken while cooking so that they are not tough but if you do it right they are mighty tasty. Good luck on your hunts and eat those mountain bears, Bruin.

I, like schmaus, prefer pepperonis & sausage! (excellent when double smoked)

BCJamesBear sausages are great, but last year I have started eating bear meat the same as I do moose and deer...steaks, stirfry, burger, and it has been fantastic! Cant wait to try hams this year...
