calgary gun show-next weekend
Just a reminder that the small gunshow is next weekend-at the thorncliff community center. I'll probably shoot over for a look-not intending to buy anything this time. I always go with the intention of buying a toy, but damned if I can find anything!! So this year no toys in mind.....unless I see a 4 bore underhammer Cool

cheers

Chef, is that the 13th?

I always go with money to spend but hardly ever see anything worth having that is not way overpriced.

Chef, I won't be making it. I have to paint ceilings in the basement. :-(

I know I've got my priorities all wrong.

See if they got that cheap guide gun for me. ;-)

At least this time I know what Scruffy looks like and Chef. Grizz I had covered last year.
When's the big show? They have me running around the province like crazy till at least mid March. Anybody out there in Bonnyville, Cold Lake, Lloydminster? I'll likely be there Feb 21-23. Fort Mac, Feb 5. Taber, Feb 8. Etc...

So my typing might be a bit bad cheers There were a couple deals that I almost did-- a 308 mannlikker shaunaur damned I can never spell that-even sober. it was over priced but still a sweet little gun. A cople of nice flinters including a pedersoli 38 or something like that -I was temted aloso. A couple nice hand guns in the 400 dollar range, some 404 jeffries cartridges to hang on the wall but at 15 bcucks each way toooo expensive. Some dude had a bucnh of drerringers etc in nice wooden cases and all prescribed antiques----a wondersful way to finance a tricp to africa he was wselling for 1500 dollars each!!!! wow I suppose he bought them off gunsamerica for 300 bucks and imported them for another 100 then marked thjem up another 1100 hahahahah .......but they were sure sweet nad I'd love to have a derringer.

that's all folks

please wish me a swift and merciful hangover

Sorry I missed it, but work beckoned and I'm saving my pennies for the Haynes sale on the 27. Big Grin

Darn, the 27th I'll be in Reno. Maybe I should give you a few brown notes to spend on that guide gun, in case it shows up. Or did I want a .270 first? bewildered

Grizz, you work too much. Wink
At least I put a coat of sealer on the ceilings in the basement today. Off to Hinton tomorrow. Got a meeting with a trapper, Sunday night. Probably see some nice furs.

Well, I was there myself this afternoon. A bit disappointing I thought. A few pearls floating in a sea of trash. Don't get me started on the Nazi memorabilia.

Perhaps calgarychef1's steak sandwich/multi beer jusg technique is the way to go.

The Easter show will be much better!

I've never bought anything at the early show. Usually not much interesting there, and the prices always seem way too high...guess guys figure they have the whole season in front of them to look for suckers.

A buddy of mine did buy a 458 Win M70 there for a decent price one time though....so you keep going back just in case. Smiler If it wasn't a 4 hour drive each way, I probably would have gone too.

I hate to draw too much attention to the Haynes sales. I'll have to bid against all you guys, Big Grin but a lot of the stuff you see at these shows originated at their sales. Buddy buys there and marks it up what he thinks the market will bear. All their stuff is listed on their website and sells unreserved. You name it and it will show up there eventually.

You woudln't have to bid against me. I'm only interested in the stupid weird stuff. When is that auction by the way??

Hi Chef;
Unfortunately, so am I. Big Grin They've got a Vickers listed, but probably way out of my budget. Auction starts at 9 on Jan. 27. If you want to go, drop me a line. Be forewarned though, it'll be an all day affair, especially if you buy something and have to wait for the paperwork.

I'll see if wifey will grant me a repreive. Maybe not as she's studying for a mid term. Then again I might be able to pawn the little angels off on someone.
