Anyone hunted with Nunami Outfitters
I have a hunt booked with Nunami outfitters in Sept for Caribou in Quebec. Anyone ever been with them?

There have been a few unsatisfied customers report in Don Causey's "The Hunting Report".

The last Hunting Report release suggests they may not even be conducting business anymore. Apparently, 13 hunters booked with Nunami were stranded in Montreal in October. Several other hunters booked with Nunami received calls saying their hunts had been cancelled, but have not received a refund. Causey's organization tried contacting Nunami but have been unsuccessful.

If you have haven't subscribed to "The Hunting Report", I'd suggest doing so for research on outfitters like this.

I hunted with Nunami last September. I got a good bull but it was not because they were a 1st rate outfit! A lot of things they told us did not materialize as the hunt progressed. My group had to continuously bail water when we were in the boat and the other group in camp couldn't go more than 100 yards at a time in their boat without the engine quitting.

The clincher was when we were flying back and they told everybody that the meat had to stay behind because the plane was overloaded. It was overloaded because they were bringing back their outboard motors because it was the end of the season.

I'm leaving out a lot due to space here but without question I would NOT recommend Nunami Outfitters based on what I encountered last year.

If you want to talk, send me an email with your phone number and the best time to call.

Good luck!

And so if you meet a hunter who has been to Africa, and he tells you what he has seen and done, watch his eyes as he talks. For they will not see you. They will see sunrises and sunsets such as you cannot imagine, and a land and a way of life that is fast vanishing. And always he will will tell you how he plans to go back. (author: David Petzer)
