Vince HazenStone and Bighorn Recommendations
I am looking for recommendations for outfitters for Stone and Bighorn sheep. Would also appreciate any thoughts on outfitters to avoid. Feel free to PM me. Can't wait any longer to get drawn. Would like to go 2023 or 2024. Thanks so much for your thoughts.

I hunted the Tetsa River country with Stone Mtn Safari in 2003.
I think this is a combined outfit now but correct me if I'm wrong.
Great place to hunt Stone sheep!

Blair took over Stone Mountain a few years ago and now manages both the Folding and Stone Mountain areas.

Thanks for confirming.
I assumed by the name, logo and area and kind of figured it out when the Tetsa River was mentioned.
I didn't know and have not kept up with who runs what in the last 2 decades. Of course at my age, it was just the other day when I killed a Stone sheep! LOL

SkylineA LOT has changed in northern BC over the last couple of decades. Logging has opened up many areas, and the oil and gas industry has significantly opened up the NE, especially to the north and east of the Alaska Highway. Still if you pick the right outfitters you will find there is a fair amount of country left that is reasonably remote.
You can also expect a lot of resident pressure in certain areas. All navigable rivers get a lot of jet boat traffic and all the lakes that are big enough for float planes will get hunters flown into them. etc. etc.
Make sure you do your due diligence in researching and selecting an outfitter. Some to consider are:
Folding and Stone Mountain
Scoop Lake
Kawdy Outfitters
North river Outfitters
Tahltan Outfitters
Spatsizi River Outfitters
Fire Mountain Outfitters
And check out GOABC at
https://www.goabc.org/hunting-in-bc/I don't know any of the large crop of "new" operators in the southern part of the province with bighorns, but you can find most of them on the GOABC website.
