TentmanSelling a Rifle in Canada
Hello Guys
I have a rifle sitting with a dealer in Vancouver. Short story is that I can't get it out of Canada (don't ask - its too painful to go into, but trust me I've tried everything over 2 years).
So now I need to sell it on. Its a rare but popular rifle in very nice condition.
Is there an online sales channel that most folk use - I know I can place it here at AR and I will probably give you guys first crack at it but I'd like to know the other options !!
Given that its at a dealers now are there any issues likey to arise selling it "out of state". How much paperwork does that involve the buyer and dealer in ?
Cheers - Foster

www.canadiangunnutz.com. There is a section on exchange of hunting and sporting arms towards the bottom of the forums. Plenty of volume on that site.
Selling a gun within Canada, from one license holder to the next is relatively easy. You agree on the price, take care of the change of registration, ship the thing, done.
To whom is the gun registered now? Is it on the dealer's license? If so, there is no problem that I can see.

TentmanThanks for the advice Frans.
Yes it is on a dealer licence. I have a private party who has assisted me that I am obliged to offer the rifle to in the first instance, than I will offer it here, then elsewhere etc. - I just needed to know options.
Cheers

Gator1What kind of rifle?
Is it a problem with New Zealand laws that keep you from getting it?

TentmanIn short, no problem with laws at either end, its the problems carriers encounter with US law during transit

Doesn't anyone fly from Vancouver to NZ or Aus?
