Yukon Moose Hunt. Top Outfitters?
Any advice on best yukon outfitters for moose? Just doing a little research on a possible hunt for 2013.
So far looking at Rogue River and Bonnet Plume.

Just been going down the list found here

http://www.yukonoutfitters.net...cle&id=91&Itemid=222

Not really trying to find the cheapest, so I'm open to all suggestions. Just best all around experience with chance at a quality moose and possibly some extra critters if the chance presents itself.

thanks!

Anyone hunted with Blackstone before?

Deuling Stone would be my suggestion. Not sure if Jarrett is booked for 2013 yet or not.

All camps with any individual outfitter are not created equal. Talk to as many RECENT clients as you can and find out what camp they were in. Don't take for granted that you'll see game similar to what is seen in the video's. Research, research, research.

Maybe check out Arctic Red River outfitters. I don't think they shoot a lot of moose but you said you might want other critters as well and they kill some great Caribou there and I imagine they could get you on a good moose as well. Worth Checking out anyways.

thanks for all the suggestions. I've been reading thehuntingreport.com reports for all outfitters in the area the last couple days. also called about a dozen references for various outfitters today. getting it narrowed down pretty quick. thanks again.

I have hunted with Caesar lake a couple of times. Very big territory, I think the largest in Yukon, also I believe the longest operating outfit in Yukon. Great folks, simple and hardworking. They have their own plane and horses.

had it narrowed down to Blackstone, Bonnet Plume, and Deuling. After reading dozens of hunt reports from all the above, and contacting about 15 different references, and taking into consideration quality of hunt, outfitter reputation, available dates, and probability of chances for other game, I decided to go with Blackstone. Yukon, fall 2013. can't wait!
thanks to all for the suggestions.

Good choice! I met Jim at the FNAWS show this year and he was a great guy!I don't think you can go wrong with him. Another fantastic outfit up there is Dave Dickson.

I hunted with Rogue River in 2007 and shot a huge moose and two black wolves. Great great area. Highly recommend. If/when I go back I will go there or with Chris McKinnon and Bonnet Plume. The only reason I would switch is to go some place different. I highly recommend both and cannot find anything wrong with either of them. I personally think that a mixed bag hunt is better with Bonnet Plume than Rogue River. Big moose at both places.

You have already made your decision but, for the benefit of others who may read this thread, I would also seriously consider Tim Mervyn of www.yukonsheep.com. I have hunted with him three times now and, when I go for Moose, it will be with him.
