Canuck32I'll be there to sure what day though.
I assume you mean this one:
African Hunting Expo – Calgary, Alberta
31st January 2014 (11:00 - 20:00) - 1st February 2014 (10:00 - 18:00)
The Coast Plaza Hotel & Conference Centre

AR MANWinnipeg had an expo a few years ago and haven't had one since. If I remember correctly three people attended myself and a couple of friends...lol. Highlights were great parking and meeting Jason Peaterson a really nice down to earth kinda guy.
Hope you guys have better luck on your end as I'm sure you will!

SkylineARMAN……….. not the same thing. I think you are talking about the Wild TV Expo that has never returned to Winnipeg.
The one in question is strictly African operators and was developed by the people who publish the African Hunting Gazette. The show is:
http://www.africanhuntinginfo.com/en/exposI think this is the third or fourth year and I know they have been in Toronto before as well, but never Winnipeg. They won't…… demographics are not suitable. The oil patch is a better venue.

SpooksarI was there for the African Events Show, there used to be one show. The 2 magazines that put it on went there separate ways. I'll try both next year, but in Edmonton it's closer for me.

makiTwo semi random observations from my visit to the show Saturday PM.
There were more exibitors than potential customers. This is too bad because...
The quality of African outfitters showing up in Calgary at this and other shows is way higher than it used to be. Some of the first wave set off all the alarm bells and creeped me out to boot. In contrast, there were reall solid folks at this show. Whittal, Sharp and a host of others.

You've got to wonder what effect having two competing shows on consecutive weekends has as well. Locations chosen by either weren't exactly high traffic areas either.

sheephunterabIt certainly made for a lot of confusion.

Canuck32I think there is a problem that one cannot get around in timing. The fact is Alberta runs on oil and December - March is the busy season. Now of course Guides and Outfitters cannot come here in April when spring breakup is in full swing in the oil patch and farmers cannot yet get into fields.
I wonder if it isn't time for a high tech solution. Maybe a place where a person can go to one website and pick via country or animal or etc for what they are interested in. Then each of the outfitters who meet that criteria would have a flyer etc that the prospective person could browse through and then the hunter could pick a few to have a Skype chat with at a designated time. I have done this a few times with Pierre van Tonder when I plan hunts with him.
I guess the simplest is if outfitters etc started putting Skype info on their websites with times when they are available.
