Velvet on Bou antlers?
I heard that if you want to keep the velvet on Caribou antlers you should inject them with formaldehyde. Anyone know anything?

Dick,

Yes, formaldehyde is what you need. It has to be injected as soon as possible into the veins of the velvet. You should have a syringe and some formaldehyde with you on your hunt if you intend to do this.
As long as it isn't a horse back hunt I am assuming. Antlers with velvet don't last to long on pack horses.

Handle them carefully, quickly and get them freeze dried. It works quite nicely if you get them frozen before the rot starts.
