Re: Black Bear hunt?
Harry McCowan runs a great hunt for bears. You spot and stalk from a boat in the spring hunting beaches and slides.
Fresh seafood is on the menu alot (crab and prawns) you'll see lots of bears and beautiful scenery. North coast of B.C. is the area and if you choose a fall hunt you can combine it with a goat hunt. The website is www.mccowans.com

Can anyone tell me the caliber limit for Blackbear?
I will have 30-06 rifle this spring, just wondering if its big enough for those bears?

Thanks in advance

30-06 is great. If you handload with premiums all the better, but any of the 180gr factory bullets will do the job well.

I'd stay away from Ballistic tips, as bears are usually shot at closer ranges.

Again thanks for the info.

Sako,
A 30-06 is plenty. Use a quality bullet of 180gr+ soft point (No frangible-varmit type rounds)

Which bullet do you plan to use in your 458?

How fast do you intend to drive it?
