CanadianLeftyHello fellow Albertans,
I've been doing consulting work out east (Quebec) and will be able to make it back to AB for Thanksgiving long week-end.
Anyone with a recommendation on what and where (WMU or nearby town etc.)to hunt from Oct. 7th to Oct. 11th?
I am open to any and all suggestions as I haven't hunted that time of year. I usually hunt either early bow or rifle season or late oct. -late Nov. I did a 999 on draws this year and will need to access public or private lands with no draw and open to rifle. I am willing to bowhunt an area if you feel it would be a more exciting opportunistic hunt.
I would prefer anyplace that has a reasonable opportunity for mule deer or elk or whitetail or black bear- meat hunting or reasonable rug or rack is fine. Willing to drive up to 8 hours from Calgary, but anywhere in between Calgary and Edmonton or a few hours drive from Edmonton is acceptable.
Please PM me with details and post general comments here.
Thanks a bunch!!

martinbnsNext year I hsould get antlerless elk and camp wainright deer, it will be my third applying. I out in for late season moose in 515 as my third choice and both my son and I drew. As soon as I got it I wished I hadnt applied, I haven't been successful hunting moose in the rut much less in November, but I guess we'll give it a whirl( we hunt deer near there anyway).
