bowhunter"s ed
I am moving to AB(Lethbridge) shortly, and am planning a visit for August/September.
I hope to do my PAL and RPAL in Calagry on my way to Lethbridge.
Does anyone know where I can do the bowhunters ed course in Calgary or Lethbridge in August or September? I will be in New Brunswick for deer season and would love to use my bow this year.
any help appreciated,
good shooting

get ahold of AHEIA they have a website. They do the course 2 or 3 times per year. I took it and it's pretty informative.

Let me know if you need any more info

Not saying that taking a bow course isn't a great idea and if you don't have bow hunting experience, it's an excellent idea but it's not required by law for bow hunting in Alberta.

Sheep's right it's not required. Although if you want to go to Alaska some day it'll be required.

It's a great way to learn more, they have a pretty good "stable" of instructors. You'll be surprised at the depth of knowledge and experience they have.

My favourite is a fellow who's dad guided Fred Bear in the Yukon, it's especially nice to see the never published photos of Fred "doing his thing" Also one guy who does treestand safety laid in a hospital for a few weeks after falling out of a tree-get him to show you his scars from the bear bites Eeker

I"m planning on hunting in New Brunswick this year
and I"d like to use my bow. At the very least I"d like to shoot some Grouse with it, if I don"t get my deer with it.
I"ve had my bow for a couple of years, but it"s not legal to bow hunt here in the UK.
looking forward to doing the course!
good shooting.
