North Country
This was a wacky idea that came out of a thread on the political forum. I know, shame on me for venturing there.

Anyhow, the thought was, have Alaska seceed from the US, and join up with the Yukon, NWT and run a line East/West from Dawson Creek to take the Northern part of BC.

The two proposed articles of the constitution would be:

1. Each household must posessess at least one gun and fishing pole, with household members knowledgable in their use.

2. Any man or women that has served in the US House, Sentate or Canadian Parliment would be permenantly barred from obtaining citizanship in North Country. Almost forgot, we'd have to add presidents, prime ministers, governors and heads of provinces.

Whatcha think

Paul - Since it was my idea, I'd say that it's a heckuva good idea. Welcome to Canada, home of great beer and hockey the way it's supposed to be played.

Depends,

Sometimes snow doesn't show up until December, typically it is mid October, but last Saturday the 25th of Sept we had 4", though it is been removed by the rain. Most of it is gone late April, early May at low elevations. The mountains have it for a few months longer. There are some areas that get snow a bit earlier, and it lasts a little longer

The beauty of snow is, no mosquitos Unfortunately bunny loven dope smoking tree huggin animal rights freeks seem to be more adaptable I guess that is the downside of inside plumbing and central heating progress seems to attract "progressives"

Moki - When I lived in Northern Ontario we had a standard joke for American visitors who complained about the cold. "We have four seasons just like everybody else, June, July, August and Winter.

OK, here's the deal. You buy the beer (which we'll help you drink) and you passed your citizenship test.

Paul, you forgot one very important qualification on citizenship: No Liberals or Democrats allowed.

Where do I sign up?

Cut the line down a bit farther south..

Pemberton is about as far south that you can get without running into the weenies...

Leave the lower mainland, but I'd say northern Van Island will get into it as well...
