GordM3 Questions
Grasshoppa has 3 questions:
1. What is the meaning or significance of 250 in the venerable 22-250 varmint cartridge?
2. Where are these Savage centerfires with the highly esteemed Accumark triggers made? Seems like it would be too good to true if they were North American or European made considering their extremely competitive pricing.
3. When was the 7mm STW introduced and by whom? I was reviewing the ballistics and it seems very impressive, I'm surprised more rifles aren't chambered for this caliber.
What does STW stand for anyways?
Yes I am aware that I lied, there is actually 4 questions,
Answers appreciated,

hoehneThe Nosler reloading manual has all the answers to your questions. 250 comes from the case being derived from the 250-3000 case , STW is a Layne Simpson derivation of cartridges based on the 8mm mag case. As for the Savage rifle, I don't know where they are made. I am no expert but just noted this stuff today when getting it all together to load for my new Savage 11F, I also own a custom 8mm mag therefore the knowledge re; the STW. Karl
