joesterQuestion re: buying a rifle in Canada for import to US...
...How difficult would this be? I found a rifle I'd like to buy online in a BC shop...If I went up for a visit, can I even purchase it as a US citizen, let alone bring it into the States?

sheephunterabNot without a Possession/Acquisition Licence in Canada and not without a lot of paperwork from the ATF.

medvedif you have a PAL (possession acquisition license) yes otherwise no of course to bring it to your country you ll need an export permit from Ottawa then an import permit from your country most of the time we canadian are byuing from States what is the reason for you? the prices are certainly higher over here ...

sheephunterabNo Canadian export permit required if it's going to the US.

joesterMedved, I'm asking b/c I cannot find the rifle (BLR .358 Win. Takedown stainless steel) so far in my US searches... Plus my wife & I love Canada, especially BC, Alberta, & Newfoundland , so we'll jump at any reason to visit !

sheephunterabLikely a much better option than trying to pick it up yourself.
