HunterJimhunting in Manitoba?
I received an envelope of brochures from the Manitoba provincial tourism outfit yesterday. Lots of great fishing opportunities shown, but I am curious about hunting in Manitoba.
What have they got that others don't have, or perhaps what experiences are best there?
thanks...jim

aulrichBig black bears and in some areas (around Duck Mountain Provicial Park) big black bears in that range in color from blonde to the warious browns and of course black. The deer hunting is good as well. The duck and goose hunting is great.
There is moose and elk hunting but I am not sure about non-res access and there are beter bets for those spiecies.

375 AIBear, deer, moose, caribou, wolf, boar, grouse, goose, duck. Elk is a resident hunt only.
There are some very good established outfitters in Manitoba. By established, I mean they have been in business for at least 15 or 20 years. They know their profession and offer some great hunting at decent pricing.

pioneeroutfittersWe have very large multy colored Black bear. The deer are as big as any where in Canada.(read the latest Big Buck magazine out of Saskatchewan)and the elk are the biggest bodied elk in North America. Anyone that was in elk farming know the Manitoba Elk were the most desireble and most expensive elk to get. They are a spiesies themselves just as the Rosevelt Elk and Rocky Mountain Elk are. Manitoba will not give out none resident licenses for elk though.
