CanuckRe: BC Mountain Goat Hunts
I'll agree with that, Kutenay.
Both ends of the Rockies in BC are my favorite places on earth. You may recall from previous threads that I lived in the Kootenays (Sparwood actually) for 15 of the last 17 years. I miss it immensely!

kutenayTo recap a bit, the East Kootenays where Sean Beswick's outfit especially is located is spectacular and he packs into Height of the Rockies Provincial Park which is a place of phenomenal beauty. I know, I was born and brought up in the Kootenays and began working for the B.C.Forest Service there in 1965.So, if you want the best country with fairly good, but quite strenuous hunting, go there, you will work for your game, but, you will NEVER forget the landscape, ever.
However, although Dave's and Barry's areas are not quite as stunning in respect of alpine scenery, there is more game there and a much better chance of shooting more than one animal per trip as the hunting pressure, although increased markedly in the past decade, is much lighter than further south in the Kootenays. Again, Sean is in a Provincial Park and this in particular as well as non-resident, especially alien, hunting is on the way out in B.C., so, go now if you can, before the inevitable changes come.
