WoodfordImporting trophies from abroad
Not certain if this is the correct forum or not, but here goes.
Does anyone have any experience/advice on importing trophies (hides and horns) from Africa? Particularly to Alberta.
Thanks

I agree with talking to a taxidermist. I've had 2 shipments from Africa with no problems. The first was addressed to the taxidermist who had a handling company pick the stuff up and clean up the paper work. The second time I had the already polished skulls shipped directly to me and I had the same handling company deal with the airlines and customs. It cost me ~$110 and ten minutes to get the trophies. It was very easy, the companies in Africa that dipped and packed the trophies do that for a living and had all the paper work in order. I don't know how much more complicated things would have been if there would have been CITES animals in the boxes though.

WoodfordMaki,
Which handling company did you use in Calgary? Did you fly or float over your trophies? How long did it take?
Thanks
