Juggernaut76My Kimber Team Match II likes a 230 gr Hornady FMJ/FP over 8.4 gr of Hodgen HS-6. I believe the twist rate is 1:16.

butchloc45's are really not fussy at all. i think i must have over a dozen different loads that i use and they all work good

Doc224/375I have this New ( Just opened it and took it out of the box , so new to me )
Griffon .45 made in RSA , by Contential Arms or someone like that .
Anyway it key holes at 25 yd. with 230 hardball !. What's up with that crap ??.
So I thought I would ask others what loads they used as I'm unsure of the twist rate .
I have lots of powders and projectiles . those 230 were factory loads of some outfit or another .
Rather than wasting load shoot evaluation time, I wanted to ask my fellow members what they use .
So I can start some where hopefully near the finish line , so to speak .
I load .380 9mm .38 .357 .44 , yet I own # 4 .45 and have never loaded for them .
My WW 2 Remington I no longer shoot , Para and Springfield boxes aren't opened as of yet .
Oh # 5, I've also got an original Colt Army model 1917 Philippine campaign revolver that takes star
clips to shoot ACP ?. Which I've never fired either . Found out what their worth and put it in the
safe years ago .Still has the original flap US Army holster if memory serves me correctly .
I might part with that for a nice rifle ?,as I purchased that from an Old Timer who's father
used it over there . He was a cop in Chicago during Capones day . I also purchased his .38
Colt special and one other old piece which escapes me at the moment . I had better open that
safe to refresh my memory !!.

Precision Man5.5-6 grains of 231 with a super-hard-cast (lots of wheel weights) in the 205-225g range is a good plinker round if you cast your own. Cuts down on cost and you can periodically dig through your berm and make new bullets almost for free!
Many variations on that to play with depending on your molds and inclinations.

Doc224/375I have jacketed and hardcast commercial bullets . One thing I have never gotten into
is casting my own . I know how and what % of what to add depending on hardness desired .
I also have about 200lb. of Pure lead in sheets as well as tin and antimony . I set some friends
up because they wanted to do Cowboy Shoots . I've just never found or took the time to do my own .
So when good cast bullets were on sale ,I would buy K or so at a time , now I've got K's .44 .45 .38 .
I also have a fair stock of fresh Herco does anyone have a load for that in .45 cast or jacketed ?.
I believe my bullet weights range 185 , 200 or 225 and 230 in .45. I'll check when I get back home .

I have several different powders .I don't have HS-6 I know I have some Accurate # 7 I think that's right .
I know I have for sure Win. 231 , Clays , 296 , Blue Dot , Hercules 2400 , Unique , 700X ,H-110
I have just about every Rifle powder made as well as Win. SuperLite shotgun powder ( Which I like for
1 or 1 1/8 once trap loads ) . That's all I can recall from memory other than Rifle powders which don't help .
