I recently inherited a Star PD in 45 cal. Shot it today and boy, does this sucker shoot. Noticed that the feed ramp has been polished and the trigger pull was crisper than my old Gov't model.

I don't know much about this bramd and wonder what you folks have found.

As I remember there is a rubber recoil absorber. It is very important that this be changed every 500 rounds !! If not the gun will be damaged !This info was not in the original manual. Eeker

i had a semi custom PD for awhile. great carry a lot, shoot a little gun. yes there is a rubber buffer that needs replacement, but i would say ever 2oo rds or less. the little light slide comes back hard. the one i had was a pretty accurate little thing, but i ended up loading up rather soft ammo for it. full patch rounds, i believe, will destroy it in not to long a time.

I have one I've been shooting for 20 years or so. The buffer is important, and getting very hard to find. I've trimmed down Colt buffers, and they seem to work fine. Don't dry fire it much, the firing pins break easily if not supported by a dry cap or such. - dan
