PeterGlocks and related pistols
like the S&W Sigma. How long can/should one leave the firing pin spring cocked and still expect it to ensure ignition? Months? Years?

p dog shooterOn glocks and and same type of actions the firing pins are no cocked untill you pull the trigger.
Trigger pulls the firing pin back compressing the firing pin spring then when the sear breaks the firing pin spring drives the firing pin forward .
So you can leave the loaded for years and the only spring that is compressed is the mag spring.
