I saw this line in an ad for a Ruger SBH Hunter in .44 mag......

quote:
"It is a KS47-NH with a 7 1/2 inch barrel. Not many NH models around and this is factory verified and will letter."
.......

Can someone tell me what the NH means and why it is important or collectible and what, if any, differences there are between an NH Hunter and a regular Hunter?

When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.

NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR.

I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

Gatogordo,

I have no idea what those initials are, but on page 1649 of Fjestad's Blue Book of Gun Values is this intriguing few lines.

"For original two-piece black and red S47 box, add $110."

"For those 80- prefix guns that are factory verified as S47B, add $700 to the 98% -mint prices."

"For a factory verified S47B with non-prefix serial number, add $1,500 to 98% - mint prices."

Wow!

Looks like you saw an ad for a collector's item.

Four sources I would go to are;

my local gunstore and ask to leaf through their reference materials they use to gauge gun values. Fjestad's is very popular for that.

Sturm, Ruger & Company directly

The guy who placed the ad.

Good hunting, Fatcat.
