You do need to think about liability if you're going to carry for self defense. You'll be challenged on the type of ammo you used. So, make it easy. Carry what your local PD or what the FBI carries. Chances are your local cops used the FBI research when they made their decision. Which makes your answer very simple. You followed the research conducted by the FBI. Keep it simple.
