A/C guyDry firing
Is it ok to dry fire a S&W "J" frame? I practice this way with my Ruger Mark II, but want to be sure I won't damage anything on the S&W.

475GuyIf you do a lot of dry firing, you'll peen out the firing pin bushing at the rear of frame. Depending on how much dry firing you do, you could even break the firing pin if it's an older model. I've owned J-frames over the years and have done all of the above. Get some snap caps and dry fire to your heart's content.
