Scorpulus500 Linebaugh
I often wondered why there are no factory revolvers in 500 Linebaugh? Are they any more difficult to make then the other 500 guns (S&W, WE, JRH)?

Lloyd Smalesmtih and wesson wanted there own round and wanted it to be the most powerful one. A 500 linebaugh will not fit in a FA. FA went to a .501 instead of the .512 a linebaugh is because the cylinder was to small for the rims of the linebaugh. The manufactures of 475 brass even had to make the rims smaller then the original case which was based off a cut down 4570 case. I dont know about the bfrs and if it will work in them or not. I would guess that the biggest reason bfr went with the 500 smith is ammo is easier to find and cheaper then it is in 500 linebaugh. Those are about the only manufactures factory making 50 cal handguns other then a few 50ae guns out there. Probably the biggest reason ruger or someone else hasnt done it is demand. Not to many people really want or need a 500 so a production run would have to be to small to justify the expense of tooling up for it.
