Uncle Grinch44 Special… keeps coming back!
Earlier this year I sold my Ruger Talo flattop 44 Special Blackhawk. I got very good money for it, but had almost immediate regrets, especially seeing all the cast bullets I had stock piled for it, along with the brass and dies. I had to find me another 44 Special and came across a Lipseys exclusive GP100 with a 5 inch full lug barrel. Now I’m waiting on it to arrive at my dealer. Should be here Tuesday…

Norman ConquestThe 44 SPL. is a hard one to beat. I love my S+W 2nd model HE in that caliber.

p dog shooterI rather buy a S@W 69 the best of both if needed.

Norman ConquestSeveral years ago when S+W came out with the Thunder Ranch special in 44 spl. I bought one from the S+W dealer at the shot show before they had even hit the market. It was basically a model 24, but had all the charms of the 2nd model HE. Came in a glass topped display case as well.

Bill/OregonMike, congratulations on finding that GP in .44 Special. There is just something about that cartridge that I can't quite define. I currently keep a stainless Bulldog at hand, but it's not in the same class of quality as that Ruger -- or the Smith 69.
There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t.

Uncle GrinchYou’re right Bill. As much as I love my 41 Magnums, there is a solid place in my collection for these 44 Specials. Here are some of my cast loads that I used in my Bulldog.

I have never owned a. 44 special but one day I might just happen on to one that I will have to own.
Someday I'm going to learn how to post pictures and let you guys see what I have acquired over the years in my quest.

Finally got around to looking up this load. Originally loaded for my late wife’s CA Bulldog. 185 grain wad cutter with 6 grains of Red Dot. It’s a mild load.

Norman ConquestForget about Roschart; my impression of this is a boat full of beauties in a boat sailing the Caribbean Sea.

I call these 'Garbage cans"

Norman ConquestBeauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Bill/OregonI think a bad guy would be quite immediately impressed to meet one of said wad-cutters entering his thorax.
By the way, Mike, how do you like your GP100?
