Bud W1911 Scope mount
I'd like to frame-mount a scope on my US Gov't 1911 without drilling holes. I know that B-Square makes a mount that straddles the slide and is attached via the slide-stop pin. Anyone out there have any experience with this mount? Thanks...

buckeyeshooterI have a mount that replaces the left grip and has a built in weaver mount over the slide. I mounted an aimpoint on a gold cup and it shot well.

Redhawk1I had one but it is an Aimtech Model # APM-7 on my 1911 and it works like a charm, I sold my 1911, but I still have the mound and the box it came in.
From there web site.
Colt Government Model .45 and copies Black APM-7 $63.25 3572400019

swampshooteri have used the no drill mts. on several revolvers and they marred the finish severely. i also have used the frame and grip mte both for a 1911. i was very pleased with both but the frame mte. leaves numerous visible screw holes if you decide to remove it. the grip mte. that replaces the left grip panel works very well and the holes are completely hidden when you remove it. it only requires drilling and tapping two holes and is not at all difficult for a do it yourself guy. make sure you read the instructions carefully before drilling as a slight forward cant is necessary.
