ELeetonFEG PJK-9HP Hungarian Hi-Power
I remember when these came out sometime back and kind of regretted not picking when up. I saw one in a local gun store the other day. I was thinking about picking it up I got back in the country. What are your thoughts on the gun?

GatogordoThey are basically a somewhat rough nearly exact copy of the Browning High Power. They feel like one in the hand, and usually shoot/function well enough for a defensive gun. Depending on the model, the sights are fairly primitive.
Their prices have slowly risen, usually going on Gun Broker now for anywhere from $3-500, the latter like new with box and papers and extra mag.
I own several that I bought for lay around guns, but have basically quit buying them since Glocks can be had in same price range and are more reliable.
I like the way they feel (just like a HP, duh) and would buy a decent one for less than say, $350 but would probably pass on anything less than a pristine example for more than that. That's a lot of gun for that money IMO.
I also really like the .45 version (different gun but similar) for the same money.

ELeetonI thought the shop wanted $400 for the gun. It was not in bad shape but was not in great shape either. Definitely not worth the $475 they were asking.

GatogordoYou can find them in nearly new condition for less than that on Gunbroker. Use patience. They really are pretty nice pistols but are not FN/Browning.

larrysThe only thing I can say is that they are very nice, usually, for fit and finish. The only difference I found in mine between it and my HiPower is that the recoil on mine was more of a torque than the regular straight recoil impulse of the Browning. Tried to twist the gun out of my hand rather than recoil upward. May have just been mine.

ELeetonI found a Jericho/Baby Eagle II (all steel - without the rail underneath) for a good price and decided to get that instead.
