need help identifying pistol
hello- i have a friend who has a single shot, break open 22 cal pistol. the markings on the barrel say HY-HUNTER INC. FIREARMS MANUFACTURING CO hollywood, calif. made in west germany. on the bottom near the trigger guard it has 2 german proof marks. can anyone tell me a little about this, or what it might be worth? bewildered

link to pistol Hy-Hunter made many different models in the 70's. The double barrel derringers seemed to be of poor qualilty. They had a steel sleeve/barrel liner for the rifling. The casting was not much more then lead. Google "HY-Hunter 22"

For the proof marks, have a look https://www.bluebookinc.com/Info/PDF/Firearm/Proofmarks.pdf

There should be a shield with the last two digits of the year it was manufactured, too.
