retreeverNorth Carolina SXS championships: shotgun and double rifles and photos
After 3 days of scorching sun the shoot is over... This was the first years for double guns at the Vintagers of N.C. The fee for the shoot was only $10 and worth every penny including the overweight luggage I had to pay for the 16 pounds of ammo I brought with me...
From a H&H Royal 10ga. paradox to a Jeffery 600 nitro express, 577NE, 577Black powder, 500 NE, 500BP, mutiple 470's, 450#2, 450/400, 45/70, 375 flanged,
8mm rimmed, 9.3X74R and some other old vintage black powder doubleguns...
There were many old vintage guns present and guys went home for their boubles... We were the hit, I have to say looking forward to next year...
Have some gret pics to post but will do when I get home... We had a blast vaporizing water jugs and you should see what a 600 does to a 5 gallon bucket of water... imprints right into the board the bottom of the pail...
It was a hoot to be sure... Thanks to the Vintager's of North Carolina...
first doubles and a 9.3X62mm
targets balloons & griz
Running leopard
Water jugs vs 577N.E.guess who won???
A H&H 500black powder vintage 1880's and running lion
From H&H to Jeffery to new Blaser and some in between...
One of the fluries a 600N.E. and A577N.E.vs 5gal buckets
My son shooting the 600N.E. late camera shot look close the water is in vapor droplets... lots of debris flying.
This is in full expansion before droplets... good for the grass...

Frank BellerMike: I'm going with you next year; I had too many things to do this weekend to be away - going to hunt Alaska in 12 days, & was busy getting things caught up around the house since I'll be gone two weeks. But next year, I'll be there with a .577.

retreeverJust went back and edited my pics and labels.. Would have failed that quiz..
All corrected I think or hope...
After all the shooting and time to go over in my mind, I shot well... I always try to group shots and more importantly be consistant with all of my shooting with the double... If I have one fault it is shooting to fast... Many of you know I am talking, take that extra .10th of a second or longer and bear down and make the shot. But I must say I love it... Shooting the boomer...
That moisture problem I had looks to be cleared up... Really heated up those barrels...
