jp sauer dr. restoration
i have sent my jp sauer dr out to have a little engraving recut that has worn thin over the years from carrying mainly aroung the breech and forend iron. my question being should i have a complete restoration barrels reblued, frame recolor case hardened and the checkering redone? the gun is still in exc cond just lost its luster. i would appreciate some input. the wood is still in exc. cond.

It's your rifle for the time being. Do what you want to do to it while keeping in mind what the next guy will think of it. Personally I'd consider some tastefull refurbishing if needed.
