Wayne SargentFirst Double rifle
I am looking to purchase a new or gently used double in 375 H7H, I have read on the net about the Beretta 450 Express and would love have one, does anyone know where to buy one of these? There none for sale on the common sits like GB or GA, and nothing comes up about dealers in the US. Please respond this or let me know of a nice double to look for around $2500, the net states '00 prices for the Beretta were 1900-2200.
Thank you

Wayne SargentI checked the site again about the price, the 1800-2200 was 1980 prices, so I know this is not accurate price. WIth that in mind could you gentlemen give me some input on best gun for the money.
Wayne
The best gun for MY money, was/is the Chapuis. I'm happy with my purchase...

Idaho SharpshooterWhat DM said, plus one!!
I would suggest that you look long and hard at the Chapuis with wood upgrade and ejectors in 9,3x74R. Great rifle to start on, good for everything on the planet with the possible exception of Elephant.

505EDChapuis are great guns-- I have a couple of buddies that have them both in 470 and both guys are pleased.
Ken at Kebco has one on had at a fair price.
http://www.kebcollc.com/index.htmlIf you like O/U set up might want to look at the Zoli I think Ken imports those too.
Bring your metal budget to 5K and you will be much happier with your purchace.

+1 unless one wants something bigger...in which case I think a Merkel .470 is tough to beat for $8K.

GanyanaImade a loooong assesment of all the doubles I have used on the Searcy responds to Weiland thread but at the lower end..I have seen and used some very good Chapuis...and a good friend , edd worslum of Evolution USA uses the action for his custom wildcat cal doubles. I have seen a couple (older?) ones that were poorly regulated, and have tried three that were a real bargin for what they delivered. If you can try before you buy and it shoots well...take it.
I like the new Zoli's. A) they work and B) they handle and feel just like my Browning Citori which I soot alot. Same afety and trigger...

Idaho SharpshooterI saw one at the Boise Cabela's this afternoon. 45-70. It did have a nice fit and finish and very nice wood. Seemed to lock up tight as a drum and balanced nicely.
The sales guy was not sure if they were $3995 or $4995 or something...
