Photos of your double
Thank you Ozhunter and Rusty. I needed that.
Ozhunter, is that your newest VC on the large frame?I know you posted it separately. If you would, please add it to our collection. Did you and your double find a fight on that walk?
Mr. Stradling: I believe the consensus is the best double rifles are the one that work with us (i.e. hunt).
Shhotaway: post your rifle. I, through Biebs, have shown you mine. Now let us see yours. And no the little sig line photo does not count.
I noticed my karma thingy turned over to one of us and Mr. Rusty in my pior thread dubbed me DRSS. Thank you gentlemen. Getting in the game is better than watching.

I humbled and admit correction.
I was in error.
How could I (or anyone else here on AR) begin to compare a pre war double from the UK to Shootaway's masterpiece. I need to decide how quickly I can unload my small collection of doubles and purchase an identical double to George's. Of course, I expect to add a substantial amount of cash to said rifles to afford such a work of art as George (and only George) has.

Shootaway: Would that have been easier to begin with. Beautiful elephant does not do the animal justice.
I think your field grade is one of a kind. It certainly doesn't look like any other searcy field grade that has been previously posted.

Shootaway,

I agree with Cal, that is a badass cartridge belt.
May I ask, is it custom made or readily available ?

Thank you.

The original owner also killed a few elephant with it.

AS much as I might like to play with an old school bigbore, I couldn't justify it for myself. But, I wanted a DR to play with around here, so I settled on a Kreighoff Classic in 30R Blaser. It has been a lot of fun so far, and pronises to be a lot more fun in the future. I had the Big 5 style stock put on it.

The back action Lancaster sidelock is my favorite so far. The twin of this rifle is for sale at Champlins. Is it the 3 1/4" .450-400? Also the one at Champlins has the extended top strap.
16 August 2016, 04:12
LHeym500
Mr. Xausa: That setup obviously works just fine. Do you still have this setup?
Jungleboy: Is the locks on the Lancaster the same as the as the Scott safety harmless. I know they are both back actions. If they are not, they sure look alike. The Royal is the poster child.
209jones: Thank you for your Kreigoff. There is not much you can not do with a fast 30. And a fast 30 rimmed in a quality double will hunt.
Where else can you see a 577/500 and 577 3 inch bpe. Thank you gentleman. I love long(er) barrels.

Mr. Pappas: Playboy dropped nude models earlier last year, so go ahead and kick it to the curb.
Two French mistresses snuck in to the party and one German dominatrix. I would happily cradle either of them. Thank you, Mr. Williams.
Folks do not worry about posting your modern rifles. Mine own is a modern rifle. All are welcome.

Okay, gentleman, now I will some of my doubles.
Here two Heyms, an .450 3 1/4 and an .470 NE.
Both the deluxe modells.

They have some great features, like engraving from the german master M.R.
(The elephant and the lion are both photo-realistic, but the lion looks not "so good" as it is in reality).

Best wishes from Germany.

I sure do. Come on over and I'll let you shoot it.

In the meantime I have acquired this jewel, also a Krieghoff, but a sidelock, in 9.3X74R with interchangeable barrels in 16 over 7X75 SE vom Hofe, with a full length insert barrel in 6X52R Brettschneider.

Mr. Xausa: Thank you for the invention and the k rifle for the database. The sidelock is a jewel. Are you in the U.S.? I know from your prior post you have done a lot of African hunting and built rifles. Not that you had to, but I am glad you kept such a loyal hunting partner.
