Commercial "solid" 9.3x74 load?
Do any of the larger ammo companies load the 9.3x74 with a "solid"? If, so, is there a U.S. source?

Only one I could find was A Square. Midway has one box.

I forgot about A-Square (probably on purpose). I'd be afraid to shoot them in my Merkel 141E... or has anyone done so without screwing up their double?

Contact www.superiorammo.com

I have shot their 286gr Woodleigh Solids [and their Softs].

They shoot and group excellently.

Judge,

You weanie! If you don't want to load your own, PM me your address and I'll send you a few NF solids I loaded to about 2350 fps in the Chapuis. You accept all responsibilty! You can see how they shoot in your Merkel.

MOnolithics will not hurt a modern double rifle. I have shot Northfork cup points and flat nose solids in all my doubles over the years. Even my Army/Navy and Jefferys and a couple of odd ball English doubles, and of course in my Searcy doubles. They never gave me a problem. The Barnes X left a lot of coper in the barrels, the Northfork and GS Customs left a lot less copper in the barrel and were much more accurate.

...I have just dig out an e-mail from April 18.th this year, when I had an conversation with Ĺke Nilsson [ake.nilsson@norma.cc] from Norma asking if Ph line of theirs have any chance to be extended into 9,3 caliber - here is what I got:

"Dear xxx,

Not for the day we have any plans to include the 9,3 caliber in the
PH-line, but frankly speaking we have to se if more people ask for it.
Never say no it can happen, I'm going to talk to our market dep. about this.

Regards Ã…ke A.Nilsson R&D-dep."

So if Ake recieves some e-mails, we may just see first factory loaded solid in 9,3. wave

Last I heard Chapuis does not recommend shooting Monos in thir 9,3x74R.

A fella in Australia poped the solder on his Chapuis in 9,3, twice.

North Fork Solids would probably be ok.
