ledvmRusty,
God speed recovery my friend.
Rusty and I have never met personally. But he helped me get my Dad's .43 Spanish rolling block shooting. He even sent me a set of dies to use. Then he found a good used set bought them and had them sent to me.
There just ain't many folks left in the world like that.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

Into my heart on air that kills
From yon far country blows:
What are those blue remembered hills,
What spires, what farms are those?
That is the land of lost content,
I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.

RustyWhen we last left our little Band of Heroes. .
After a couple of weeks in the hospital surviving Gallbladder surgery and subsequent congestive heart failure and kidney slowdown, demanding better living conditions, I managed to survive and was discharged Saturday August 13th.
I got home in time to get a call from our daughter Stormy telling us their place out in Hockley had burned to the ground. They lost everything and 3 dogs. The fortunate thing was that none of them were at home.
The outpouring of love and support from family, friends, and complete strangers has been amazing. Once again I am humbled to see flood of assistance from one human being to another.
So we move forward. What can be replaced or rebuilt will be taken care of. A lifetime of memories up in smoke, we will forge new ones from the ashes!
In the middle of a Texas drought, with other minor disasters befalling us, we are blessed with the Grace of God, some pretty good health and the love and support of friends and family.
Another great day to be alive in Texas.
Kindest regards,
Rusty
