scutulatusMany of you have probably seen the Searcy at the shows on the Gulf Breeze table. It was built for them. "Standard dimensions" 14.5 drop. Feels right or me. 470NE, ejectors, scalloped case hardened receiver, basic + engraving, photo about shows all.
The 1920 Johann Springer from Howell was my first, don't remember the purchase date, search my posts to see who won the "when will he buy the next" pool hhahahahaha

shootawayNice but that forearm stock piece could stand for some improvement.Look how nice and straight that of the bottom rifle is-the part that runs along the barrel.

Correct bullet placement, combined with the required depth of bullet penetration, results in an anchored animal...

A7drvrMr. Shootaway; looks like the Searcy rifle's forearm is shaped to the contour of the barrel while the Springer forearm is simply shaped flat on top. Don't know which is the correct way or if it matters to anyone except yourself.

mt AlAwesome pair of doubles, regardless of the drivel from the peanut gallery! Hope you get to use them frequently. Love the whole B Searcy mojo and hope to get one some day and pair it with a classic, just as you have done.

Just thinking how this wonderful rifle can become more so.

dpcdPlease look at the contours and tapers on the barrels of both rifles and you will see why the forearms are shaped the way they are. Neither can be made "better" or different.

scutulatusSo Shootandweigh seems Ya have had your Searcy quite a long while. I would have thought you would have straightened out Butch's stock makers before now, as well as taken a rasp to yours.
