What makes the $$$...the provenance? Hofer in Ferlach will build one for a 1/4 the price. I'd be interested but 16 gauge ammo is a tough to find and expensive

I have been learning a bit about shotguns lately. Wouldn't a double with walls that thin be considered a sleeving candidate? What are you going to a three barrel gun when the walls get too thin?
Maybe they were made thin from the start to help balance the gun. Boss could surely tell you how they measured when new.

C'mon, MAC, no excuses. We will have some MDs at the shoot and perhaps they can do the job over an unused range bench thereby saving you some time and money AND you'd be at the shoot!!!
